ITEM DESCRIPTION

This antique Tressemanes Vogt Limoges Porcelain Cup & Hostess Snack Plate Set is in Very Good Antique Condition with No Cracks No Crazing. NOTE: There is a sliver chip on the back of the plate (SEE picture with pen). Made in Limoges, France, this beautiful porcelain set dates from approximately 1892–1907. The cup measures approximately 3 1/8\" tall.

This rare set features a creamy white porcelain ground richly decorated with elaborate gold butterflies, and ornamental details. The cup has a wide decorative gold border around the rim and an unusual sculpted gold handle.

The matching hostess snack plate features gold butterflies and birds arranged across the white porcelain center. An exceptionally wide and intricate gold border surrounds the plate, giving the set an elegant and highly decorative appearance.

The underside bears the T&V Limoges France mark associated with Tressemanes & Vogt of Limoges, France.

PATTERN & DESIGN

This rare Tressemanes & Vogt Limoges set features extensive gold decoration against a creamy white porcelain ground.

The cup is decorated with gold butterflies and finished with an elaborate ornamental gold band around the rim. Its unusual sculpted scrolling handle is heavily accented in gold and complements the ornate border.

The large hostess snack plate continues the design with scattered gold butterflies surrounded by a broad decorative gold border featuring intricate floral and geometric details.

The combination of the rare butterfly decoration, elaborate gold work, unusual sculpted handle and large hostess snack plate format makes this a particularly attractive example of antique Tressemanes & Vogt Limoges porcelain from the late 19th to early 20th century.

 

The cup measures 3 1/8\" High x 2 1/4\" Wide rim to rim and the saucer is 7 3/4\" Wide rim to rim. I have provided a lot of pictures to best describe the condition of this Hostess Set.
