The reverse is extensively printed in red with period promotional information for the Mount Lowe Railway, including Hotel Rubio and the Music Hall, Grand Chasm and Thalehaha Falls, the Great Cable Incline, Echo Mountain House and the “Mount Lowe Eight.” It also includes a Mount Lowe poem attributed to Alice E. Rollins and promotional text by George Wharton James.
Mount Lowe was one of Southern California’s celebrated early mountain tourist attractions, with its famous cable incline carrying visitors from Rubio Canyon toward Echo Mountain.
